About Simon

Simon Boses is a father, sculptor, toy collector and avid board game enthusiast. He was born in Israel, but grew up in St. Pete, Florida immersed in the area’s rich and diverse art community. After earning his BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art Simon was awarded a residency at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft in Houston, TX. His passion for sculpture and working with children led to founding Make Time, a community Maker Space that focused on inspiring youth to use tools and technology to learn, create and innovate (Closed during COVID shutdown). 

Currently he lives just outside Santa Fe, NM on a small farm with his wife, kids and a bunch of chickens.

Artist Statement

“My work is an ongoing mythology created from the events of my life. For me, a piece is successful when it reveals a familiar moment in what it is to be human. When the audience recognizes that narrative as something from their own lives, possibly something they never took time to think about, I consider it to be a success.”
